Just one goal in his opening ten English top division appearances this season had numerous doubting if Dominic Calvert-Lewin's prime were in the past.

Yet, a only four weeks later, he stands as the most discussed forward in England following scoring 7 goals in 6 straight games.

His latest finish, in a stalemate versus Sunderland, took his tally to eight, seeing him become the highest English goalscorer in the Premier League this term.

A Stunning Revival

The 28-year-old joined Leeds United on a free transfer in the summer, after a nine-year spell with Everton that was marred by setbacks in its latter stages.

Yet, the numbers supporting his revival in Daniel Farke's new fast-breaking 3-5-2 formation are truly notable.

His six-game scoring streak puts him in elite company as only the 11th English player to score in six or more straight Premier League outings.

To provide context, even England captain Harry Kane was unable to produce a run of this length - his longest remains two separate five-match runs.

And the only English striker to better Calvert-Lewin in the modern era is Jamie Vardy, who went on an eight-game scoring streak for Leicester City in 2019.
